This week Ferrari North America announced the arrival of the 488 Challenge to North America.
The Ferrari Challenge is a single-marque motorsport championship that was created in 1993 for owners of the 348 Berlinetta who wanted to become involved in racing. It now encompasses three official championships in the United States, Asia-Pacific, and Europe. Well that’s what Wikipedia tells me anyways, but I can never believe anything on there.
Every mid-engine V8 Ferrari since 1993 has had a Challenge version developed and raced. The Ferrari you see in the video above has Side Slip Angle Control and is 1 second faster around Fiorano than the outgoing 458 Challenge EVO car.
In 2017, the North American Ferrari Challenge series will run 6 races starting at Laguna Seca on May 13-14, and concluding at the Finali Mondiali at Mugello Circuit in Italy in October.
