Jumeirah Carlton Tower – Executive Suite Review

Another trip to London for the 2018 EE BAFTA awards and there was no doubt where I wanted to stay. After last year’s incredible experience in the Spa Suite, I decided to upgrade to the Executive Suite at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel and bask in the additional space that the suite possessed.

The Hotel

The Jumeirah Carlton Tower continues to offer luxurious accommodation in one of the most fashionable shopping districts. Situated in the heart of Knightsbridge the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel is a short taxi ride away from the West End. Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace and the Royal Albert Hall are only a stone’s throw away. In addition, every luxury boutique you can think of including Harrods and Harvey Nichols department stores are just around the corner. With 216 rooms (including 58 suites) the Jumeirah Carlton Tower really is a 5-Star escape of class and sophistication.

On Arrival

Comfy Rolls Royce Ghost

After arriving at the hotel in the beautiful Rolls Royce Ghost courtesy of VIP Chauffeur Car Hire I arrived at check-in. The second I got out of the car not only did concierge staff members know my name but Guest Relations staff all greeted us on arrival. This was such a nice touch and we were greeted with a nice fresh glass of lime flavoured water. It was at the check-in desk that I was told that my Executive Suite room had been upgraded to a London City View Suite. The only difference between the two rooms is the view and I was quite privileged to have received a nice upgrade. But this was only the beginning.

The Room

As you can see in the video tour below there was enough room for four people, let alone just us two. The living room was spacious with a lovely glass dining table and glass coffee table. There was a desk to catch up on work, including a tablet which you could use to order various services, surf the internet and more

The bed was nothing short of incredible but the only negative I had about the room was the bathroom. The bathroom (albeit a beautiful marble bathroom) felt a little small and basic for the price you pay. The Spa Suite bathroom last year was head and shoulders above this room at nearly half the price. There was no TV or such luxury in this bathroom. It didn’t matter as we wouldn’t be staying in the hotel for too long during the evening anyway. But if you’re looking to stay at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower (without going out for the night) for a relaxing night of tranquil luxury I highly recommend the Spa Suite. It’s easily one of the nicest bathrooms in the entire hotel, it gives the Luxury Suite a run for its money too!

I feel service is where the Jumeirah Carlton Tower really shine. Just after being shown to our room we have a knock at the door 10 minutes later. A tray comes rolling in with chocolates, handwritten letters, complimentary wine and my favourite drink, cider. The hotel knew I would be attending the BAFTAS that evening and had written a note wishing me a good night.

Concierge rang up the room and asked if I needed anything. Also, when I was out they rang the lovely lady I was staying with to check if she was ok and if she needed anything too. They really went above and beyond to make us both feel special.

After the ceremony, I came back to the hotel so we could get ready to go to the GONG at The Shard restaurant and they had left me another bottle of complimentary cider. I absolutely loved these guys!

Having numerous members of staff not only knowing my name but being friendly, outgoing and helpful at every turn really was icing on the cake. I want to give a special shout-out to Beth and Antra who were the two standout staff members who made me feel like royalty from the moment I walked in until the second I left.

After coming back to the hotel for the night we were told that we had 24-hour room service which was music to my ears! We ordered via our tablet on the desk and within 30 minutes we were tucking into some beautiful food. The portions were huge! My Chilli could have easily been a meal for two and the nachos were just beautiful. Everything tasted so fresh and whilst the Chilli was twice the price I’d normally pay for a similar meal the portions more than made up for the price difference.

Jumeirah Carlton Tower Review

I’ve never been to a hotel that treats their guests as well as they do at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower. Every need felt catered for, the staff were going out of their way to make sure my visit was memorable. It genuinely felt as thou everyone there enjoys their jobs which is always wonderful to see. There wasn’t a sad face in sight.

I did regret not visiting The Rib Room thou, however, this year. Their Wagyu beef steak last year was mouthwateringly memorable.

Hopefully sometime later this year I can re-visit and check out the Luxury Suite and provide a review. I’ve been staring at the pictures of it none stop since I’ve arrived back home. I can’t wait to go back already!
