Luxury fashion houses are jumping on the Android Wear watches bandwagon. Montblanc, Hugo Boss, Diesel, Emporio Armani, Michael Kors. The list goes on and on and on. Louis Vuitton have now hopped on board the Android wear train. It looks absolutely beautiful so let’s take a look. Introducing the brand new Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon Android Wear watch.
The first smartwatch from the French fashion house. Styled very similar to the Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon watch, but with a digital upgrade. What I love about this particular watch is how it swaps between Louis Vuitton patterns as the watchface background. Everytime I go into the Louis Vuitton store I’m always spoiled for choice on what pattern to choose. Should I get Damier Graphie? Damier Azure? LV Monogram? But with a few clicks of a button the background of the watch changes to any Louis Vuitton dial pattern you desire. In addition the watch includes the ability to track flights and includes a city guide feature.
Louis Vuitton isn’t marketing this as an Android watch and this makes perfect sense. Due to personal experience even the word Android tends to freeze before I can finally type or mouth it. Freeze much like their operating system. The amount of Android device issues I’ve had crash on me to the point of no return is a scarily high number. Maybe I just had bad luck.
The Tambour Horizon features a 390 x 390 AMOLED touchscreen underneath a sapphire crystal, and contained in a 42mm, stainless steel case.
Containing identical hardware to all other Android Wear watches. Louis Vuitton have added their pricetag to something a little more, exclusive. Prices start at $2,450 for the regular model, $2,900 for the black variant. But if you take a look at various other Louis Vuitton watches on their site this Android Wear watch actually comes across as incredibly affordable. So if you’re a regular LV customer chances are you’re going to love the pricepoint on this one. As many luxury connoisseurs know it isn’t the price that matters it’s the exclusivity of the product.
Louis Vuitton will be selling the Tambour Horizon really soon so stay tuned for it!
